Fresh from the Farm Fundraiser

FFTFLogoWe are excited to run the Fresh from the Farm fundraiser for a second year.  Students will have the opportunity to sell Ontario-grown fruits and vegetables to our local school community, supporting our parent council and Ontario farmers.

Order forms will be sent home and, are also available here for downloading: Fresh from the Farm 2018

Orders are due by October 5.
Please make cheques payable to Huntley Centennial Parent Council.

We will need volunteers to sort and package the produce on delivery day, which will be sometime between early November and mid-December. We will have ten days notice once our date has been picked.

If you’d like more information, if you’d consider volunteering, or if you’d like to donate a bundle to the West Carleton Food Access Centre, please contact healthyhuntley@gmail.com.
Last year, we donated about 100 pounds of produce!

Kindly,

Teal Pumpkin Project

TealPumpkinImageThe Teal Pumpkin project is a worldwide movement that offers an alternative to candy on Halloween, for kids with food allergies as well as other children for whom candy is not an option. The idea has taken off in recent years.

Putting a teal pumpkin on your doorstep means you have non-food treats available, such as glow sticks or small toys. This simple act promotes inclusion for trick-or-treaters with food allergies or other conditions.
